Based:
Queensland, Australia
Neil has over 30 years’ experience as a successful Project Director on many complex, large projects all with envious safety records. The industries have ranged across infrastructure, petroleum, mining, processing, fabrication, materials handling, power and energy. As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course he also has insight into the corporate governance requirements. Although he has had several corporate roles his main focus has been from the Project perspective. He is outcome focussed and develops and mentors his teams into effective, supportive high performance units.
Neil has extensive commercial experience in many different contract types (Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates, EPC, EPCM, PMC) both on the owners’ side or the contractors’ side. The delivery models used have been with Joint Ventures, Consortiums, Main Contractor, Subcontractor. He also has extensive experience on complex power station and oil & gas projects including the rebuild at Longford Refinery in Victoria after the disastrous fire which decimated the plant. On the Lucinda Sugar Loader project they created a
world record for the most metres of complete jetty (piles, super structure & conveyor) in a single week whilst he was Site Manager.
Neil has also lead many projects from study phase to commissioning so understands the various changes that projects must undergo in successful delivery. Many of the projects involved the supervision from Design through to Commissioning hence he has an innate understanding of the challenges faced and the ramifications of one phase on the next.
Neil provides valuable insight for clients and contractors, particularly in Project Overview Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning areas.
