Garry has been a successful Project Director / Delivery Manager on many complex, large projects all with envious safety records. The industries have ranged across infrastructure, mining, processing, water/wastewater, rail, materials handling, power stations, telecommunication and oil & gas. Although he has had several corporate roles (Qld State Manager – Tenix Alliance, Operations Manager Northern and International – Laing O’Rourke) his main focus has been from the Project delivery perspective.
Garry has extensive commercial experience in many different contract types both on the owners’ side or the contractors’ side. The delivery models involved have been Alliance, Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates, Target Cost Estimate, PCM, EPC and Turnkey.
Several of the projects he has successfully delivered involved significant community, safety and environmental issues and he is mindful of harnessing stakeholder involvement whilst at the same time achieving high productivity. Garry successfully identifies and manages project risk and utilises his excellent communication skills to promote the project outcomes.
Having lead many projects from mobilisation phase to commissioning Garry understands the various changes that projects must undergo in successful delivery and has been involved in the recovery of a number projects in distress.
Garry has a proven ability as a mentor and coach to create high performance yet supportive teams. He brings valuable insight for clients and contractors, particularly in the areas of Project overview and construction delivery.
